Graphics and Print Investing In The Future

January, 2012

Graphics and Print, the Telford-based print manufacturer who have won awards for commercial printing, have embarked on a journey that further demonstrates their commitment to continual improvement and provides another example of how they are investing for the future, to bring the very best in commercial printing to the industry.

The company has taken the first steps towards achieving their Investors in People accreditation. Investors in People is the UK's leading people management standard, providing a business improvement tool designed to help all kinds of organisations develop performance through their people. Managing Director of the commercial printing business, Martin Kells, explains:

“Commercial printing as an industry, is becoming more competitive by the minute so at Graphics and Print, we are always looking to invest in the future, whether that’s in new equipment, raw materials or our people, to ensure we stay one step ahead. Technology advancements have helped to keep costs down, and at Graphics and Print we believe in passing this onto the customer. You’ll find that we are actually charging less for print now than five years ago and this is in no small way due to our investment in new presses. We also purchased a Horizon AFC 504 AKT Folder 2000, to ensure that we could offer our customers the option of endorse folding. In some cases, this helps to cut postage costs by almost half - a fantastic message for any customer to hear. Whilst we have always demonstrated a keen desire to develop our team in an attempt to make our offering the very best in the market, we are now taking the first significant step towards formalising this through the Investors in People accreditation. We are convinced that this will lead to improved organisational performance, greater productivity, a sharper competitive edge, and increased employee engagement – all of which leads to more great news for the customers of Graphics and Print.”

Graphics and Print have started the programme with a detailed analysis of the development needs of their team, from the management right the way through to production, finishing and the design studio. With the end to end print journey all taking place under one roof, the company is looking to develop every area of the business, despite already boasting over 300 years of combined industry expertise!
